The Support Continues

Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, our Polish colleagues have been involved in a wide range of activities to help the refugees. Even now, four months later, the commitment is great.

The management of our Polish plants has donated financial resources and in-kind services, e.g. 50 beds for refugees, generators and telephones for the Polish Red Cross, which looks after refugees at the Przemyśl border crossing. About 20,000 people still come from Ukraine to Poland every day.

Not only the management, but also our employees have been actively involved in the relief efforts, including donating money and goods or teaching Polish.

As a company, we also try to integrate the Ukrainian refugees into the community and help them find their way in their new surroundings. To this end, some employees from our plant in Gliwice took part in an open house and integration day for refugees. „During the event, our company presented job offers for Ukrainian refugees. They could also obtain legal advice or assistance in filling in various applications related to their stay in Poland. It was the first event of this kind in the Province of Silesia (Województwo Śląskie)” – explains Marta Tokarz, HR Manager in Gliwice.

Some colleagues from Gliwice brought furniture to a newly set-up center for Ukrainian refugees and helped with its construction. On their own initiative they renovated the dormitory, where 25 Ukrainian children live.

In June, our Gliwice plant also organized a trip for young people from Ukraine who are studying in Poland and will be looking for employement in a few years. At the plant, we want to systematically employ refugees from Ukraine – by the end of June, nearly 40 people were already working on the assembly lines and in logistics.

“We are very proud of our employees and their commitment inside and outside the company. They have done a great job!” says Urszula Balcerek-Szrubarczyk, Country HR Manager in Poland.
