The new KIRCHHOFF Cares program is an initiative to promote social engagement that encourages employees across U. S. locations to volunteer with local organizations and support projects in their communities.
The teams in Manchester and Troy have completed the first KIRCHHOFF Cares projects, demonstrating the enthusiasm and commitment that will drive this program forward across all locations.
School Supply Drive in Manchester
Our employees partnered with the Manchester City Schools Family Resource Center for the “We Care Together” project, an initiative providing essential school supplies to local children in need. In a “Stuff the Bus” event, 36 colleagues filled backpacks with essential school supplies donated by our Manchester plant. In the end, the team was able to fill 100 backpacks with essential supplies such as folders, binders, pens, pencil sharpeners, calculators, and more – equipped with everything a child needs for a successful school day. As a personal touch, they included a signed encouragement card in each backpack. These heartfelt messages were designed to inspire and support children from Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade at the start of the new school year.
Animal Welfare Event in Troy
The Troy team volunteered at the Berman Center with the Michigan Humane Society to promote animal welfare. Team members provided socialization and enrichment activities for shelter dogs and cats, giving them valuable time outside their kennels and helping prepare them for successful adoptions. “Everything we can do to help these dogs up for success in their new homes is extremely valuable, both to the animals and their future families,” said Kellen Marceau, volunteer program coordinator for the Michigan Humane Society.
The participating employees were moved. “Volunteering at the Humane Society was incredibly rewarding,” said Luke Viohl, Sales Manager. “We engaged with many dogs, supported their well-being, and witnessed firsthand the impact of loving care from both volunteers and staff. It was a very meaningful day for me, and I am grateful that our company offers opportunities like this.“
”The volunteer event was an amazing experience!“ added Amber Utter, Senior Payroll Specialist. ”As a ‘rescue mom’ for two horses, two cats, and two dogs, it was both a pleasure and an honor to volunteer my time with these animals. I’m already looking forward to our next opportunity!”
Building on a strong foundation
The KIRCHHOFF Cares program is set to be expanded to additional locations. We want to partner with more local organizations making positive impacts in our communities. The KIRCHHOFF Cares program reflects the company’s core values and commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of those in the communities where we operate.
