Your Tasks

  • Assign individual work duties and co-ordinate employee activities in accordance with daily production schedules while ensuring employees work efficiently and safely in each of their respective areas.
  • Inspects equipment and machines for defects and potential problems and notifies Maintenance Supervisor of same – may suggest corrective action where applicable.
  • Ensure machines and work areas are kept clean, tidy and safe. 
  • Adheres to the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Ensures team members keep accurate documentation in EAM system on all work performed, in addition to documenting all weld adjustments in Welding logbooks.
  • Compiles data for management daily.
  • Maintains positive employee relations and addresses issues in a timely manner. 
  • Seeking advice/counsel from Maintenance Supervisor and/or appropriate sources as required.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement projects.
  • Be present at work, ready to work at the assigned time for every scheduled or voluntarily accepted workday.
  • Work safely, following safety work instructions or designated safety procedures (such as Lock Out Tag Out).
  • Ensure all assigned equipment is in good working condition.
  • Troubleshoot machine breakdowns and carry out remedial actions.
  • Inspect all machinery for defects and potential problems in accordance with preventative maintenance program; repair and replace parts as required. 
  • Perform general equipment maintenance duties as required e.g. cleaning, oiling and greasing machines according to the preventative maintenance program.
  • Perform general equipment inspection and report abnormalities to Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Operate some welding, cutting equipment i.e., arc welding, plasma cutting.
  • Ensure fluid levels are maintained at appropriate levels in the machinery and equipment. 
  • Order replacement parts as required to repair equipment.
  • Build machine replacement parts as required.
  • Perform general building equipment maintenance duties as required e.g. cleaning and greasing machines according to the preventative maintenance program.
  • General building maintenance duties. (Install/repair facility equipment, repair flooring/guardrails assembly, repair small plumbing jobs, (e.g. light bulb replacement, etc.)
  • Install Equipment and proper utilities required for operation.
  • Adjust in welding program when required and participate in improving efficiency and cycle times. 
  • Set up robotic welding stations by operating/retrieving various computer programs stored in robotic welding equipment. 
  • Adjust equipment and change welding fixtures as necessary to ensure good quality welding
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement and assist in its implementation on an ongoing basis.
  • Schedules resources to support PM program, CI program and production.
  • Modify existing equipment and install new equipment as required.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electric/electronic system faults, tune equipment and ensure adequate controls and safety measures are functional.Any other reasonable request made by management.
  • Contributes to a safe, clean and comfortable work environment that complements the Occupational Health and Safety Act by ensuring the principles of the 5S discipline (simplify, separate, sanitize, standardize and support) are supported and adhered to.

Your Profile

Work Experience (provide details and minimum # of years required)

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in the automotive industry, demonstration of knowledge
  • Minimum 5 years’ maintenance experience in repairs and troubleshooting, demonstration of knowledge
  • Ability to read blueprint drawings
  • Ability to read circuit diagrams and correlate to actual work piece
  • Robotics, (Fanuc, Panasonic, Nachi)
  • Full Knowledge of National Electrical Code Book
  • PLC programming (Allen Bradley)  
  • Basic understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and QS 9000/IATF 16949/ISO 14001 requirements

 

Skills (language, technical, computer etc.)

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Computer applications, (Excel, Outlook, CMMS)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to guide and direct employees on day-to-day activities
  • Well organized and able to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities
  • Sharp mathematical aptitude
  • Works effectively in a team-based environment

 

Education

  • High School diploma or GED, including one of the following.
  • Industrial Maintenance Diploma
  • Associates in mega Tronics
  • Associate’s in electrical engineering
