Your Tasks

  • Operate sectioning and cutting equipment like the band saw and wet saw
  • Operate planar grinder and polishing equipment like the speed adjustable grinder/polisher.
  • Conduct acid etching activities to reveal microstructural features.
  • Conduct microscopic analysis to reveal grain structure, inclusions, and other microstructural features.
  • preparedness of metallographic testing reports utilizing software to translate visual information to measurements.
  • Manage the C&E schedule to meet the agreed frequencies of testing.
  • Maintain updated records according to the latest and greatest welding 2Ds part print and customer specific requirement for C&E.
  • Ensure the license for the measuring software is up to date, including the required technical support.
  • Manage the C&E equipment repair in case of breakage.
  • Efficiently communicate with the service departments on the C&E testing result and coordinate the fixing of the nonconformance items.
  • Ensures full compliance with U.S. and/or state laws, during the usage of any KIRCHHOFF Automotive Manchester equipment.
  • Promote and follow a safe, clean, and comfortable work environment that complies with the Occupational Health and Safety by ensuring the principles of the 5S.

 

Your Profile

Work Experience

  • Experience using sectioning & cutting equipment: band and wet saw.
  • Experience using planar grinding polishing equipment: speed adjustable gringer/polisher.
  • Experience in etching activities by applying chemical reagents to reveal microstructural features.
  • Experience on microscopic analysis to reveal grain structure, inclusions, and other microstructural features.
  • Experience on metallographic software to translate the microscopic pictures into readings that meet the customer specific requirements: Overall penetration, root penetration, leg length, gap, throat, cracks, undercut, porosity.

Skills

  • Management of Computer skills: Excel and Outlook
  • Being able to interact and communicate with the technical teams about the metallographic testing results
  • Flexibility to work overtime and weekends if required
  • Good attitude and willing to work in a team environment 

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED
